Tammy L. Grimes, a veteran educator, working mother and longtime community leader, now serves as the District 5 Councilwoman. Grimes received her B.A. degree in Marketing from Clark College and her M. Ed. in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University. #RelationshipsMatter

A 32-year resident of DeKalb County, Grimes works in the DeKalb County school system and worships as a faithful member and volunteer at New Life Church. Grimes is a Co-President of her homeowners’ association, represents DeKalb as a member of the Snapping Shoals EMC Nominating Committee, serves as an Executive Board Member of the Klondike Area Civic Association and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

To make Stonecrest the very best it can be, we must CONTINUE to envision:
  • a city that’s safe, clean and respected.
  • a city that provides opportunities to its residents to live, work and play, from teenager to senior.
  • a city where the elected officials lead with honesty, transparency and regard for all.
Grimes and her husband Reginald have been married for 30 years. They were partners in a successful venture that led to the development of The Estates at Trinity Village, a family-oriented community where they raised three children: their eldest, Reginald II, and daughters Taylor and Tylar – all of whom attended DeKalb County schools.

Grimes is well-known in her community and beloved by her former students, parents and colleagues. She has served in the DeKalb County School System as an educator for over 20 years.

Grimes is excited about the opportunity to serve and hopes that all citizens will take an interest in the business of the city so that all are “Stonecrest Proud!”
