The 2021-2022 James L. Thornton Memorial Scholarship application is now available!
Seniors from Arabia Mountain, Lithonia, Martin Luther King Jr., and Miller Grove high schools are eligible to apply.
The James L. Thornton Memorial Scholarship is in its 20th year and is making 3 scholarships available this year. Over the past 19 years, the scholarship fund has awarded 49 scholarships to South DeKalb County graduates.
The application and essay are due (postmarked) by March 19, 2022.

2022 Recipients
Congratulations to the scholarship recipients for the 2021-2022 school year. This year all students were from Arabia Mountain High School:
1st place Tyler M. Tyson ($3,122)
2nd place Bianca King ($2,322)
3rd place Haley Williams ($1,722)
This year’s recipients bring the total number of scholarships awarded to 52 over the past 20 years.
