Welcome to the Department of Communications
The Department of Communications plays a vital role in fostering transparency, trust, and engagement between the City of Stonecrest and its internal and external stakeholders. Our chief responsibility is to ensure that all City business is communicated in a way that is accurate, consistent, and captivatingly visual. Whether you are a resident, business owner, visitor, or City employee, our goal is to keep you informed with timely and accurate information.
We believe that communications is not just function of government but a fundamental obligation that supports the democratic process. By facilitating open dialogue and sharing relevant updates, we empower the community and ensure that everyone has access to the information they need to participate in civic life.
Our Responsibilities Include:
- Electronic & Print Marketing Campaigns: We create and manage marketing efforts that highlight City initiatives, programs, and events. Our team ensures that these campaigns reflect the City’s goals and resonate with the community.
- Live Production of City Meetings: Transparency is key to building trust. We manage the live broadcasting and recording of City Council and other public meetings, providing residents the opportunity to stay informed and engaged in City governance.
- Website Management: We maintain and regularly update the City’s website to ensure that it serves as a user-friendly and reliable resource for all residents. Each department page is designed to provide easy access to important information and services.
- Social Media Management: In today’s digital age, social media is an essential communication tool. We manage all of the City’s social media channels, keeping the community informed with real-time updates, announcements, and events.
- Community Engagement: Connecting with the community is at the heart of what we do. We lead efforts to engage residents through various channels, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs addressed.
- Crisis Communications: In times of crisis, clear and accurate communication is critical. Our team is responsible for coordinating and disseminating timely information to keep the public safe and well-informed during emergencies.
- News Media Relations: We act as the City’s liaison to the news media, ensuring that all media inquiries are handled promptly and accurately. Our department works to ensure that the City’s narrative is conveyed clearly and correctly across all media outlets.
Communications is dedicated to maintaining open lines of communication and ensuring that every stakeholder has access to the information they need. We take pride in being the voice of Stonecrest and look forward to continuing to serve the community with excellence.
