Congressman Johnson and Sen. Ossoff to Announce $1M Grant on MARTA Funding for Stonecrest City leaders, government officials and partners to discuss MARTA’s transit hub in Stonecrest.

Stonecrest, GA – Mayor Jazzmin Cobble, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) and Sen. Jon Ossoff (GA) will hold a press conference to announce the $1 million grant secured in the 2023 Community Project Funding (CPF) appropriations for a new transit hub in Stonecrest. Speakers include representation across state, county, and local agencies. The new hub will provide riders with better amenities such as restrooms, covered waiting areas and fare vending. Congressman Johnson secured $15 million in funding for 15 community projects in Georgia’s 4th Congressional District in the FY23 Appropriations, including $1 million for a MARTA transit hub in Stonecrest.

Stonecrest Transit Hub: The funding would be used for MARTA’s Stonecrest Transit Hub serving Routes 86, 111, 115, and 116 by providing customers with covered waiting areas, fare vending, real-time arrival/information, and public restrooms. The enhanced amenities as well as easier bus-to-bus transfers will improve the transit experience for constituents. A service building will offer restrooms, a customer service window, and operator relief facilities. The design is underway and will be followed by engineering and construction.
